An August 22 IEEE Spectrum on materials work by Peidong Yang also mentioned JCAP and Frances Houle.

An August 22 North American Wind Power story highlighted a new Lab study looking at the health benefits associated with renewable energy sources and quoted lead author Dev MillsteinSolar Industry Magazine ran a similar story.

An August 21 San Francisco Business Times supplement on the Berkeley Visionary Awards looked at the Lab’s Cyclotron Road project as well as Lab innovation and mentioned Paul Alivisatos and Elsie Quaite-Randall.

An August 21 Forbes magazine story on electric vehicles quoted retired Lab physicist Fred Schlachter.

An August 21 GreenTechMedia story highlighted the creation of a “sensor suitcase,” work co-led by Jessica Granderson and which first appeared in a Lab news release.

An August 17 Quartz story highlighted a new Lab study looking at the health benefits associated with renewable energy sources and quoted lead author Dev Millstein. The report was widely covered including by Vox.com, The Independent, Ars Technica, e360, Think Progress, Futurism.com, EcoWatch, and Yahoo!News among others.

An August 17 California magazine story on the effects of cool pavements on global warming quoted Ronnen Levinson. A related story, also quoting Levinson, appeared August 18 in the Digital Journal.

An August 17 Washington Post obituary highlighted the life of physicist and politician Vern Ehlers who, early in his career, worked at the Lab.

An August 16 New York Times story noted the passing of neuroscientist Marian Diamond, mother of ETA’s Rick Diamond and wife of former Lab nuclear chemist, Richard M. Diamond.

An August 16 Seeker.com story on next-gen geothermal technologies quoted Pat Dobson and Tim Kneafsey. The technologies were highlighted in a recent Lab news release as well.

An August 15 insideHPC story looked at 3-D simulations of galactic centers, work developed by Alexander "Sasha" Tchekhovskoy. The International Business Times and IEEE Electronics360.com also covered the simulations based on a Lab news release.

The August issue of Consumer Reports magazine quoted Mark Mendell in a story on the health impacts of air-conditioners.

An Aug. 8 Physics Today story profiled Ernest Lawrence on the occasion of his birth.

An Aug. 8 EnGadget.com story featured work led by Daniel Kasen and Francois Foucart, who used NERSC to understand what happens when a black hole collides with a neutron star. Daily Galaxy also covered their work based on a Lab news release.

An Aug. 7 NSF Science Nation story looked at how audio restoration technology by Carl Haber and Earl Cornell is helping to restore rare audio recordings.

An Aug. 7 opinion piece in The Hill cited the Joint Genome Institute and Joint BioEnergy Institute as leaders in biotechnology.

This week’s Grizzly Peak fire received substantial news coverage mentioning the Lab and the fire’s proximity. Stories were in all major local news outlets including the East Bay Times, NBC Bay Area, ABC Bay Area, CBS Bay Area TV newscasts, and more.

An Aug. 4 International Business Times story featured work led by Daniel Kasen and Francois Foucart, who used NERSC to understand what happens when a black hole collides with a neutron star. Daily Galaxy, Inverse.com and insideHPC also covered their work based on a Lab news release.

An Aug. 3 Science magazine story on a new way to capture neutrinos quoted Natalie Roe.

An Aug. 3 Youngstown State news story profiled two summer interns: Youngstown professor Alina Lazar and her student, Zackary Harnett, who were here with the Visiting Faculty Program.

An Aug. 2 Scottish Daily Record story highlighted new findings on e-cigarettes, work led by Hugo Destaillats. The Daily Mail and Independent Online also covered his findings.

An Aug. 1 Xinhua News story, based on a Lab news release, featured work led by Peidong Yang and Woochul Lee on a crystalline semiconductor.

The August/September issue of Bay Area Monitor looked at cool pavements and quoted Haley Gilbert. The story was partially based on a Lab news release.

A July 31 ABC7 Bay Area story featured the audio restoration work of Carl Haber and Earl Cornell.

A July 31 Boulder Daily Camera story looked at how global warming intensified Colorado floods in 2013. The work, featured in a Lab news release, was co-led by Michael Wehner and Dáithí Stone.

A July 31 story in Code Watcher magazine noted that Brett Singer and Max Wei will lead an effort to help California establish net zero energy homes. The story was partially based on a Lab news release.

A July 31 IEEE Spectrum magazine story on the search for Planet Nine noted the involvement of Peter Nugent, Michael Medford, Danny Goldstein, and NERSC’s Cori supercomputer.

A July 29 Renewable Energy Magazine story, based on a Lab news release, noted that Tim Kneafsey and the Lab would be leading a new geothermal technology project. ChEnected.com, a publication of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, also covered the announcement.

A July 28 IEEE Spectrum story covered research led by Haimei Zheng and Kaiyang Niu on a new material that may help convert CO2 to fuel. Xinhua News, the Economic Times, and Cosmos Magazine were among others that covered the findings based on a Lab news release.
