Berkeley Lab “In the News” is our weekly review of Lab researchers, staff, and students who have appeared in the news media this past week. This is but a sampling of our coverage. Please note that some links may expire after time. 

A Jan. 13 BBC News story looked at the practical uses of Roman concrete, based on previous research conducted at the Advanced Light Source by Paulo Monteiro.

A Jan. 12 Harvard Gazette story noted Harvard researchers used the Advanced Light Source to find new catalysts to speed chemical processes.

A Jan. 11 feature on R&, based on a Lab news release, looked at work by Dean Toste, Hans Bechtel and Michael Martin to help better understand the structural properties of catalysts.

A Jan. 10 story on power that’s required for video streaming quoted Arman Shehabi. The Seattle Times ran a similar story noting previous Lab research in this area.

A Jan. 9 Midwest Energy News story on state-level renewable policies cited work led by Ryan Wiser, Dev Millstein and Galen Barbose

A Jan. 7 story looked at work by Trevor Keenan on using supercomputers to help shed light on more accurate plant models. The story was based on an earlier Lab news release.
