Berkeley Lab “In the News” is our weekly review of Lab researchers, staff, and students who have appeared in the news media this past week. This is but a sampling of our coverage. Please note that some links may expire after time. 

A Jan. 26 UPI News story featured work on vanadium dioxide, work led by Junqiao Wu and which first appeared in a Lab news release. The International Business Times and others also covered the work.

A Jan. 26 Davis Enterprise story on the dangers of e-cigarettes quoted Hugo Destaillats and cited work he led in the area.

A Jan. 26 Arizona Republic story on the impacts of distributed solar cited a new report by Galen Barbose. Energy Manager Today also covered his findings.

A Jan. 26 GreenTech Media story looked at results of a study on solar and wind prices, work led by Mark Bolinger and Joachim Seel.

A Jan. 23 CleanTechnica story, based on a Lab news release, noted a $5 million donation from the Simons family to support Lab research and to fund the Lab’s first endowed chair.

A Jan. 23 Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology News story on big data helping to understand the structures of protein noted that the work was made possible by the Joint Genome Institute.
