Berkeley Lab “In the News” is our weekly review of Lab researchers, staff, and students who have appeared in the news media this past week. This is but a sampling of our coverage. Please note that some links may expire after time.

A Jan. 5 EnergyWire story on state-level renewable policies cited work led by Ryan Wiser, Dev Millstein and Galen Barbose. Windpower Engineering & Development ran a similar story.

A Jan. 4 Marin Independent Journal story on testing for pathogens in water quoted Gary Andersen, whose PhyloChip technology will be used in the project.

A story in the most recent California magazine looks at work by Carl Haber to help recover sounds of native California tribes.

A Jan. 4, PBS Nova Next story on the continuing discovery of new microbes noted work by the Lab’s Jill Banfield and Tanja Woyke.

A Dec. 29 Technology Review story on research into artificial photosynthesis quoted the Lab’s Ian Sharp, and noted the work being done at the Lab’s Joint Center for Artificial Photosynthesis (JCAP). MoneyInc.com also noted work at JCAP by Peidong Yang, and Chris and Michelle Chang in its list of top 5 new energy sources currently under development.

A recent story in Consumers Digest looked at range hoods, quoting Iain Walker and citing work done here at the Lab.

A Dec. 29 InsideHPC story looked at the Materials Project and included a video of Kristin Persson.
