Berkeley Lab “In the News” is our weekly review of Lab researchers, staff, and students who have appeared in the news media this past week. This is but a sampling of our coverage. Please note that some links may expire after time.

A Dec. 18 Associated Press story on extreme weather threats to the grid quoted Joe Eto.

A Dec. 17 News-Medical.net story highlighted work led by Alex Pines on future possibilities for NMR and MRI technologies. R&D Magazine ran a similar story based on a lab news release.

A Dec. 17 Utility Dive story on the value added to homes with rooftop photovoltaics cited a new report led by Ben Hoen. A lab news release first announced the findings.

A Dec. 14 Symmetry magazine story looked at new results from the LUX dark matter experiment and quoted Dan McKinsey. Other outlets covering the results included the Black Hills Pioneer, New Hampshire Voice, RedOrbit.com, Daily Galaxy and the Albany Daily Star, among others. Some stories were based on a lab news release, which also quoted Kevin Lesko.

A recent California magazine story on quantum dots looked at work led by Paul Alivisatos.

A Dec. 14 R&D magazine feature, based on a lab news release, looked at new methods to create nature-inspired materials, work led by Rob Ritchie and Antoni Tomsia.
