Berkeley Lab In the News, Week of August 09, 2015

Berkeley Lab “In the News” is our weekly review of Lab researchers, staff, and students who have appeared in the news media this past week. This is but a sampling of our coverage. Please note that some links may expire after time. 

An August 14 ClimateWire news story highlighted a new report on solar costs led by Galen BarboseUPI, CleanTechnica, Renewable Energy Magazine, PV-Magazine and Utility Dive were among the many other outlets that also covered the report’s release.

An August 13 National Geographic story cited a new wind report led by Ryan Wiser and Mark Bolinger. The report also received coverage from the Washington Post, Houston Public Radio, ClimateWire, UPI, Consumer Affairs, Renewable Energy Magazine, GreenTechMedia, UtilityDive, and many others.

An Aug. 13 R& feature, based on a news release written by lab Public Affairs, looked at new findings from the IceCube project, citing Spencer Klein and Gary BinderDailyGalaxy also covered the story.

An August 9 Daily Cal story looked at a new data-sharing effort, the Pacific Research Platform, and quoted Eli Dart and Jon Bashor.

An August 9 San Francisco Chronicle story on California’s efforts to cut gasoline use quoted Jeff Greenblatt.

An August Innovation Toronto story looked at Lab-startup Optokey. The story was based on a feature story originally written by lab Public Affairs.
