Berkeley Lab In the News, Week of April 6, 2014


Berkeley Lab “In the News” is our weekly review of Lab researchers, staff, and students who have appeared in the news media this past week. This is but a sampling of our coverage. Please note that some links may expire after time.

The April 10 issue of the San Francisco Business Times includes the announcement of Elsie Quaite-Randall’s arrival as head of technology transfer.

An April 10 Chemistry World story highlighted work done in conjunction with NCEM’s Jim Ciston on a new way to make ethanol. Science Blog and other sites also covered the research.

An April 8 CNN story featured research showing new results on the expansion of the universe and quoted the Lab’s David Schlegel and Andreu Font-Ribera. The work was widely covered by Science News, Astronomy EarthSky, and many others.

The April 7 edition of KPFA-FM’s Letter & Politics included an extended interview with the Lab’s Michael Wehner, who discussed recent IPCC climate change reports.

An April 7 Architectural Lighting highlighted the Lab’s new FLEXLAB facility and quoted Steve Selkowitz.

An April 6 Boston Globe story profiled the Lab’s Carl Haber and his work on audio restoration.
