Berkeley Lab In the News, Week of October 6, 2013

Berkeley Lab “In the News” is our weekly review of Lab researchers, staff, and students who have appeared in the news media this past week. This is but a sampling of our coverage. Please note that some links may expire after time.

An Oct. 9 Forbes story profiled the Lab’s Delia Milliron.

An Oct. 9 Los Angeles Times story on the Nobel Prize for physics cited the history of Berkeley Lab.

An Oct. 9 San Francisco Chronicle story on the Nobel Prize for chemistry noted one of the winners spent time at Berkeley Lab. The Contra Costa Times also mentioned the fact.

An Oct. 9 GreenWire story on the federal shutdown and its impacts mentioned Berkeley Lab, as did a similar Oct. 7 story.

An Oct. 8 Daily Cal story featured the establishment of the new Kavli Energy NanoSciences Institute, to be led by the Lab’s Paul Alivisatos. Graham Fleming and co-director Peidong Yang were quoted in the story.

An October Spokane Inlander story highlighted Berkeley Lab research into the dangers of kitchen emissions and quoted Jennifer Logue.
