Government Compensation Expanded for Some Older Lawrence Lab Cancer Patients

A program that has paid out more than $118 million in medical compensation to former Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory employees has been expanded. Those who worked at Lawrence Berkeley Lab through 1961 constitute one of the beneficiary groups whose cancers are presumed occupational, and yet very little nuclear weapons research took place there starting a few years after World War II.
